I’ve been in Bangkok for a little over a week now.
Everything is still new, different, exciting and busy. Though part of me is
already beginning to miss home. The weather is hot and humid, so sweating all
day every day has already become a part of life. The food is amazing--though
I’ve always had a big heart for Thai food. So overall, Bangkok has been a confident thumbs-up.
As to orientation, orientation has begun to prepare us for
what is to come in merely three weeks! Soon I will be standing in front of a
classroom of Thai students exploring the world of education through a
completely different culture than my own. Does this make me nervous? Perhaps it
should, but I’ve been too busy trying to decipher the tones of the Thai
language.
Here’s a peek into a bit of what I’ve experienced thus far:
Trip to the Grand Palace
Houses along the river. This was taken on a boat tour.
Orchid Farm
Floating market that happens on the weekends.
